Mull Saturday 19th August, 1995

Everyone packed last night, so after breakfast it is taking gear out to the Landrover to be loaded onto the roof, and then Laurie drives us back to Craignure (Except Brian who has his car booked on the later ferry).Loading the Landrover

We arrive in “Plenty of time” i.e., before the ferry has actually docked, and say goodbye to Pat, who has managed to find herself a tour with Iona with some space on it. The ferry crossing is pleasant and we see a family of porpoise swimming past towards Mull. The Craignure Ferry

I leave the others once we get off, and go across to the Caledonian Hotel, where I am booked in for the night. After lunch I manage to get on distillery tour, which is very interesting, and includes a free sample of the product. Very Pleasant! Mind you, we are surprised when our guide admits she prefers Irish whiskey!
Take dinner at “Mc Tavish’s Kitchen” which comes complete with a “Scottish Show”, Pipes, fiddle, Accordion, singer and two dancers in various combinations. It is obviously popular as I am joined part way through the evening by an Austrian Tour Guide who is taking the scenic route from Manchester to Edinburgh, (Via Hull, Whitby, The Lake District, etc., etc.) as they have run out of tables.
