Antarctica – Friday 26th November, 2004

Although the sea is still relatively calm there is a lot more movement overnight and this morning. There is also a lot more snow on the deck this morning. We have also returned to more following birds (particularly Cape petrels) and fewer Icebergs. The morning is interrupted by a sighting of a mother & calf humpback whale.

During the afternoon I decide to sample another of the boat’s amenities as the cinema is showing ‘King Arthur’ – I’m glad I didn’t pay to watch it!

Just before recap we encounter a pod of hourglass dolphins. Then after dinner we go back out to enjoy the sunset and look for the ‘green flash’ – a solar phenomenon not a 1950’s superhero
