Tropical Beach

I am met at the airport to be taken to the hotel I should have spent last night in, (Mount Lavinia), to meet the organiser, Chas Anderson and his family. We transfer to our trip bus and drive south to the Lighthouse hotel in Galle. Today has been declared a Public Holiday in honour of yesterday’s elections (the first since the end of the civil war), so the roads are comparatively empty and we make record time. The other members of the group are all arriving from other resorts they have already visited. Karen, Stefan and Alan have arrived just before we do, and the others (Laurence and Yvette, and Vilmos and Enikő) arrive during in the afternoon.

The hotel is very nice, with a sea view, access to the beach and two pools.

Our first whale watch starts at 06:30 tomorrow, so straight to bed after dinner.
